Creative Case

Friday 27th January, 2012

Claire Cunningham balanced on crutches.

What is the creative case? Its Arts Council's new position on diversity.

They advocate there is "a clearer, simpler and more potent position to articulate for greater diversity and equality in the arts – they are crucial to the arts by sustaining, refreshing, replenishing and releasing the true potential of England’s artistic talent regardless of people’s background."

I wrote some articles to illustrate the creative case which are slowly appearing on their dedicated creative case website.

So far you can read my take on:

Sue Austin and Danny Gregory http://disabilityarts.creativecase.org.uk/creativecase-looking-again

Caroline Bowditch and Scottish Dance Theatre http://disabilityarts.creativecase.org.uk/creativecase-shifting-ground

Chuck Close http://disabilityarts.creativecase.org.uk/Chuck-Close

And lots of other disabled artists http://disabilityarts.creativecase.org.uk/creativecase-we-are-astonishing
